About ICS

We provide a high and consistent level of support to as many frail elderly people as possible living in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring areas. We supply extra practical support to those who need it most. We find that our clients often take on a new lease of life by feeling safer and they regain their strength, confidence and are able to maintain a good quality of independent life. 

Our Practical Support Services

Assistance with caring for the home	Our carers will assist with light cleaning, dusting, hoovering, mopping of floors, changing bed linen, laundry and hazard spotting.
Advocacy	Arranging appointments. Organising transport.
Basic Cooking	Especially when ill, or wanting to invite a friend to share a meal.
Escorting	Clients to shops, to friends, to hospital / GP appointments, even to the local pub.
Hospital Visiting	Often our carer is the only visitor the client has.
Shopping	Many housebound clients value this service.
Pet Care	If the client becomes house bound or has to go into hospital we will arrange the pet to be fed or taken to the vet if needed.
Emergency Service	To bridge the gap between a clients’s care package being agreed and starting. (Seven days a week).

Our Costs

Independent Care Services was first set up to provide that little extra practical care and support to the frail elderly on modest incomes. The hourly cost of providing ICS service to the client is heavily subsidised by grants from trusts and private donors. All clients are assessed on an individual basis and the cost ranges from £9 to £15 per hour.
